Lancashire apologizes for removing Pakistani fan from Old Trafford

Manchester: English county cricket club Lancashire has issued an apology after a Pakistani supporter was removed from Old Trafford Stadium for wearing a Pakistan team shirt during a recent England-India Test match.

The incident occurred a few days ago when the fan was asked to leave the ground, allegedly due to his attire. The matter sparked criticism on social media, prompting Lancashire to respond.

In a statement, the club expressed regret over the incident and reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity and respect for fans of all backgrounds.

According to foreign media reports, Lancashire has apologized for ‘any troubles and crime’ after the Pakistani spectacle was expelled from the Old Trafford Stadium.

In this regard, Shaikh Farooq Nazar had said that “I was watching the match, the security men asked to cover the Pakistani shirt, the security personnel said, change the shirt or leave the ground”.

Earlier,  A Pakistani cricket fan was removed from Old Trafford Stadium during the ongoing Test match between India and England for wearing a Pakistan team shirt.

The spectator, identified as Farooq Nazar, said he was simply watching the match when security personnel approached him and asked him to cover his Pakistan jersey. When he did not comply, he was escorted out of the stadium.

“I was just enjoying the game when security asked me to cover my shirt,” Farooq Nazar stated, expressing his disappointment over the incident.
