LAHORE: The Operations Wing of Lahore Police has apprehended the suspects involved in a major burglary at the home of a Chinese national in the Defence area of Lahore.
In a press conference held alongside members of the Chinese community, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Defence Sheherbano Naqvi announced that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of Rs. 18 million from the residence.
Police have successfully recovered stolen cash from the suspects, and further investigation is ongoing.
ASP Sheherbano emphasized the importance of protecting foreign nationals and assured that the Lahore Police remain committed to swift action and justice in such cases.
According to the ASP, the theft took place three days ago, after which the suspects fled to their native town of Chishtian. The suspects include two security guards, Shabbir and Imtiaz, who carried out the robbery with the help of a third accomplice, Ali Uzair.
Police have recovered Rs. 12 million so far, and efforts are underway to recover the remaining amount.
“The suspects had full knowledge of the house and the location of the cash, which made the theft easier to execute,” said ASP Sheherbano.
She emphasized that the Lahore Police are committed to protecting foreign nationals and ensuring swift action against those who violate the law.
