Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday sought a report on an attack on a police vehicle that resulted in the martyrdom of cops in the Tank district.
DawnNewsTV reported that multiple deaths occurred in the explosion, which impacted an armoured police vehicle in the district’s Gomal area.
Governor Kundi sought an immediate report from the top police officials on the “attack on an armoured police vehicle”, a statement from his office said.
He expressed his deep grief and anger, conveying his condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs.
“The brave men of KP Police embraced martyrdom to protect the lives and property of the people,” Kundi was quoted as saying, adding that he was proud of the martyrs.
“These actions by the Fitna al Hindustan, which is backed by India, cannot dampen our morale,” the governor asserted.
The state has designated Balochistan-based terrorist groups as Fitna-al-Hindustan to highlight India’s alleged role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.
The KP governor urged the PTI-run provincial government to “take practical steps to ensure peace in the province”.
