The piercing, spotted by fans in September, appears on North’s middle finger and is a microdermal or single-point piercing — a style that sits flush against the skin without an entry and exit point.

Once the detail surfaced online, some followers questioned whether the 12-year-old should have it and criticised Kardashian’s parenting.

On November 11, a TikTok user posted a video with the text, “north west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart just me?” The caption read, “what is going on #northwest #kardashians.”

Two days later, the joint TikTok account for North and Kim responded simply, “it’s okay.”

Users were quick to weigh in. Some defended North, writing, “how does it affect you like actually,” and “She wanted the piercing and Kim let her pls stop Kim’s just trying to let her kids express themselves.”

Others sided with the original post, including one commenter who said, “no i completely agree idk why people act like you can’t have an opinion lmao.”

Kim has stood by her daughter, emphasizing that North has her own approach to style and handles criticism with surprising maturity.

During her recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian said, “She’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that.’” She added, “She’s really confident.”

Kardashian, who shares North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with ex-husband Kanye West, acknowledged the challenges of raising a preteen in the public eye. “I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she said. “As a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”
