Brazilian footballer Kathlen Souza has proudly embraced Islam, beginning a new chapter of her life devoted to Allah.

Her heartfelt decision, celebrated by her club Al-Nassr and teammates, marks a deeply personal journey of faith and devotion, culminating in her performing Umrah at th.e sacred Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.

Saudi football club Al-Nassr officially announced on Tuesday that Souza had accepted Islam, a development warmly received within the club. Her teammates celebrated the momentous occasion with her, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie.

Al-Nassr shared a video of Souza on their official platform “X,” writing, “We are honored to share this significant moment in Kathlen Souza’s life as she embraces Islam. May Allah grant her steadfastness and fill her heart with peace and contentment.”

In the video, Souza expressed her emotions, saying, “I was simply searching for the right path and trying to become the best version of myself that’s all.”

Kathlen Souza, 29, hails from São Vicente in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and plays as a center-back. She has represented the Brazilian Women’s National Team and previously played for Italian club Inter and Real Madrid from 2022 to 2024 before joining Al-Nassr.

Starting her football journey in Brazil with Santos’ junior teams, Souza later moved to the United States, where she pursued her studies at the University of Louisville and the University of Central Florida while continuing her football development.
