Karachi’s rainfall breakdown: Area-by-area rain totals revealed

Web Desk: Karachi embraces relief as recent rains bring pleasant weather across the city. The showers provide a much-needed respite from the prevailing heat and humidity.

 

Karachi: Various parts of Karachi experienced a refreshing shift in weather today following widespread rainfall. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed significant precipitation across the metropolis. Gulshan-e-Mimar recorded the highest rainfall at 23 millimeters, signaling substantial showers.

Other key areas also received considerable rain, with Surjani Town logging 22 mm and Saadi Town 17 mm. University Road registered 11 mm, while Shahrah-e-Faisal received 9 mm, and Nazimabad 8.2 mm. Even Jinnah Terminal recorded 6 mm, bringing a welcome change.

The PMD further detailed rainfall in Korangi (4.4 mm), Airport Old Area (3.2 mm), and Gulshan-e-Hadeed (3 mm). The least amount was recorded in Kemari at 2.5 mm, but nearly all parts of the city felt the pleasant effects.

Areas like Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Saddar, and Old City Area also witnessed delightful downpours. The widespread showers have transformed the city’s atmosphere, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature and general relief for residents.
