Karachi may continue with warm and humid conditions

Karachi: Karachi is expected to remain warm and humid. The season continues to bring elevated temperatures and high humidity levels.

The wind speed today is notably gentle, blowing at just 8 km per hour, which contributes to the still air conditions. The temperature varies throughout the day, with the minimum recorded at 29°C and the maximum expected to reach around 35°C, indicating a typical hot summer day.

Humidity levels are relatively high at 79%, which may make the weather feel even warmer and more oppressive.

On the other side in Lahore the early morning rainfall has brought a welcome change to the weather across Punjab, including Gujranwala and Chiniot, making conditions notably pleasant.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department anticipates continued rain, with possibilities for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Northeast Balochistan, and Kashmir.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), significant precipitation was recorded in the past 24 hours. Kakul received 31 millimeters of rain, while Balakot and Mansehra recorded 40 millimeters each. Abbottabad saw 31 millimeters, Malam Jabba 17 millimeters, and Bannu received 8 millimeters of rainfall.

However, the monsoon season has also brought its share of sorrow. In Balakot tehsil, Mansehra, heavy rains on Monday led to severe flooding in rivers and canals. Tragically, an 8-year-old child drowned in a rainwater drain in Mangli village, and search operations are currently underway.

Furthermore, the PDMA has reported a grim toll from recent monsoon-related incidents in Balochistan. Across the province, 10 people have lost their lives and 7 others have been injured in various accidents attributed to the heavy rains.
