The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast contrasting weather patterns across the country today. While Karachi will experience hot and humid conditions.
In Karachi, the city is expected to remain humid with partially cloudy skies. The current temperature in the city has been recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, with the mercury expected to climb to a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius today.
According to the PMD, the high humidity in Karachi, currently at 78%, is due to the continuation of sea breezes. These winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour.
For other parts of the country, the weather will largely remain hot and humid. However, a change is expected in the northern regions. The PMD has forecasted rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also anticipated in some specific areas of northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
A PMD official, commenting on the national forecast, stated, “We advise residents in northern areas to remain cautious due to the expected thunderstorms and strong winds. While most of the country will experience hot and humid conditions, the rain will provide some relief in the upper regions.”
In Islamabad and its surrounding areas, residents can expect partially cloudy skies with a high likelihood of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms. The overall weather outlook for the nation points to a combination of oppressive heat in the south and much-needed rain in the north.
