Justin Baldoni attempts to get out of Blake Lively trial in shock filing
Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s trial is set for March 2026

Justin Baldoni just asked a judge to throw out Blake Lively’s lawsuit against him altogether.

According to new court documents obtained by Page Six, the 41-year-old actor has filed a motion asking the judge to dismiss the case entirely, arguing that “no reasonable jury” would find him guilty in the trial set for March 2026.

Baldoni claims Lively, 38, has no evidence to support her allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, defamation, and conspiracy. He also maintains that she was “an independent contractor, not an employee,” rejecting her claims related to contract violations.

The Jane the Virgin star further disputed Lively’s extensive damages, calling them speculative and unsupported by proof.

Lively previously alleged that Baldoni’s actions cost her $161 million in total, including $56.2 million in lost career earnings and endorsements, $49 million in damages to her haircare brand Blake Brown, and $22 million in losses tied to her drink company, Betty Buzz/Betty Booze. She also claimed her reputation took a $34 million hit after 65 million negative impressions about her surfaced online.

Baldoni insists those figures are exaggerated and cannot be substantiated, saying her claims for lost profits “lack standing” and are “speculative, possible or imaginary.”

Lively originally filed her lawsuit in December 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation during production of It Ends With Us.

Baldoni, who has denied all allegations, countersued for $400 million in January 2025, but his defamation case was dismissed earlier this year.
