Jeannie Seely, a dedicated member of the Grand Ole Opry, will be honoured with a special tribute, receiving the farewell she deserves.

On Thursday, August 14, the late country music icon will be honoured with a proper farewell at a public memorial service at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

Given her status as a beloved fixture at the Opry, the upcoming memorial service will be named Jeannie Seely’s 5,389th Opry Show, marking the end of an iconic era.

For the unversed, the Don’t Touch Me singer breathed her last on August 1, at the age of 85. She passed away at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage due to result of complications from an intestinal infection.

During her last days of hospitalisation, she revealed she spending “11 days in the intensive care unit and [suffered] a bout with pneumonia.”

In addition, the Sentimental Journey singer was facing health issues for much of 2025. She’d undergone “multiple back surgeries this spring for vertebrae repairs,” as well as “two emergency abdominal surgeries,” the statement read.

Shortly after her death was confirmed, Seely’s fellow artists including Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire dedicated heartfelt social media posts for her.
