Tucker Carlson and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian
Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has claimed that Israel tried to “kill” him during a meeting.
During the interview with American political commentator Tucker Carlson, Pezeshkian explicitly accused Israel of attempting to kill him during a strategic meeting of Iranian officials. He stated, “Yes, they did try and acted accordingly but they failed.”
According to Pezeshkian, the plan involved bombing the location where the meeting was held.
He said Israeli efforts were supported by U.S. intelligence agencies but did not provide detailed information about the timing or exact location of the plot.
Pezeshkian credited Iranian intelligence operatives with uncovering and thwarting the assassination attempt, though he declined to offer further specifics.
This assertion of Pezeskhian adds another dimension to the ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington
Further Topics:
Beyond the assassination claim, the interview explored several other critical issues facing Iran and its relations with the world. Pezeshkian spoke about the status of Iran’s nuclear program, saying the country had a right to peaceful nuclear energy while criticizing ongoing U.S. sanctions and diplomatic pressures.
He also addressed the prospects for renewed diplomacy between Iran and the U.S., expressing skepticism about the likelihood of meaningful progress given the strained political climate.
During the interview, Tucker Carlson asked the Iranian president, “There has been a pause in the war with the United States. What do you think will be the outcome of this situation, and how do you want it to end?”
Pezeshkian responded, “Iran did not initiate this war, and we do not want to continue it.”
“Our government’s goal has always been to maintain peace among the countries in the region.”
Does Iran support the assassination of the American president?
Tucker Carlson asked Masoud Pezeshkian about the fatwa issued against U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Iranian president stated that, as far as he knows, no religious figure in Iran has issued such a fatwa, and his government has nothing to do with it.
He further said that religious figures condemn such fatwas and insults to religion and religious personalities, and that these fatwas have no relation to the United States or the American president.
According to Masoud Pezeshkian , these religious figures have their own opinions, and he assured that these fatwas do not pose any threat to anyone.
After that, the host asked him whether Iran has ever supported the assassination of any American president.
The Iranian president denied this, saying: “Netanyahu wants to instill this idea in the minds of the American people so that the U.S. can be dragged into the region and unrest can be spread.”
During this interview, the Iranian president commented on diplomatic relations with the United States and the sanctions imposed on the country, stating that “American investors can invest in Iran, and there are no restrictions on American investors in Iran.”
“I believe that either the American president, Donald Trump, will bring peace to the region and establish Israel in its place, or he will get caught in Netanyahu’s trap and malicious ambitions, leading to an endless war.”
When asked whether Iran’s allies, including Russia and China, would help Iran in case of a major war, the president said he believes in God and that “Iran has the capability to defend itself, and we will stand for our country, its people, and its dignity.”
