Israel strikes Gaza’s North and South amid repeated truce violations

Across Gaza, families are trying to rebuild their lives in the most difficult of circumstances.

Israel launched a series of air and artillery attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, hitting targets in Beit Lahiya in the north, eastern areas of Gaza City, and the southern city of Khan Younis, according to International media

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that at least 245 Palestinians have been killed and 627 wounded since the ceasefire officially came into effect on October 10, highlighting the fragility of the truce.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the ceasefire as “fragile” and “repeatedly violated,” urging both sides to respect it and use the pause to push forward peace efforts.

Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, the Israeli army said it struck a “weapons storage facility and underground terror infrastructure site” used by Hezbollah, as cross-border tensions continue to escalate.

Israel has also reopened the Zikim crossing, the main entry point into northern Gaza, to allow humanitarian aid deliveries into the devastated region.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 69,185 Palestinians and wounded 170,698 since the conflict began in October 2023.
