Ishaq Dar Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza, Highlights Kashmir Issue in UN Speech

Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, addressed the United Nations Security Council and demanded an immediate end to the blockade of Gaza. He also raised the issue of Kashmir during his speech, calling for its resolution in line with UN resolutions.

In his address, he strongly demanded an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. He stated that resolving conflicts like those in Palestine and Indian-occupied Kashmir fairly and urgently is essential for global peace.

Ishaq Dar said that over 58,000 Palestinians have been martyred in Israel’s brutal attacks, the majority of whom are women and children. He urged the international community to break its silence on these atrocities.

He added that Pakistan seeks peace not only in its own region but across the world. He described Pakistan’s unilateral efforts for regional peace as insufficient and called for broader support.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He reminded the council that the United Nations has recognized the right of self-determination for Kashmiris.

He also expressed concern over India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. He said this agreement is 65 years old and holds great importance between the two countries. He condemned India’s illegal attempt to block the water of 240 million Pakistanis.

Ishaq Dar affirmed that Pakistan will continue to play its role in line with the UN Charter and international law. He welcomed the Security Council’s approval of the resolution promoting the peaceful resolution of disputes.
