Isabeau Levito set for Olympic debut at 2026 Milan-Cortina games

Burlington County’s figure skating sensation, Isabeau Levito, is set to make her Olympic debut at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games, cementing her place among the nation’s elite women skaters.

At just 18, Levito has earned a coveted spot on the U.S. Olympic figure skating team, marking a career-defining milestone.

For Levito, representing her country on the world stage is a dream realized. “It’s surreal to have the chance to compete for my country and be one of the top three skaters selected,” she said.

Levito’s journey on the ice began almost as soon as she could walk. At just three years old, she first laced up her skates, a moment her longtime coach, Yulia Kuznetsova, still recalls vividly. “She was tiny, fearless, and full of character,” Kuznetsova said. “Her determination and work ethic have been incredible. This opportunity is truly meant for her.”

In 2022, Levito was only 14 and too young to qualify for the Beijing Winter Olympics. Now age-eligible, the Milan-Cortina Games hold special significance. With her mother hailing from Milan, Levito will compete in a city that resonates personally and culturally. “It’s amazing to skate in a place so connected to my family,” she said. “I feel a sense of belonging that makes this experience even more special.”

Levito’s rise hasn’t been without challenges. A foot injury during the 2024-2025 season sidelined her for months, testing her patience and resilience.

Yet, she views the setback as a catalyst for growth. “Missing time on the ice made me appreciate every moment of training and every opportunity even more,” she shared.

Her preparations for the Games are in full swing, with an emphasis on combining technical precision with artistry. Levito’s short program will feature a Sophia Loren medley, blending cultural homage with her expressive skating style a fitting tribute for an Olympic debut in Italy.

As the Winter Games approach, Levito’s story of perseverance, talent, and personal connection to the host city positions her as a skater to watch, ready to captivate the ice and the world.
