TEHRAN: Israeli airstrikes on Iran have resulted in the martyrdom of Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to international news agencies, dozens of airstrikes were carried out early Friday, including several in the northeastern districts of Tehran, where loud explosions were heard and plumes of smoke were seen rising from various locations.

Iranian state television confirmed that the IRGC’s central headquarters in Tehran was among the targets struck by Israeli forces. The attack reportedly caused significant damage and further intensified calls for retaliation from Iranian leadership.

Iran has officially confirmed the deaths of several top military and nuclear figures following Israeli airstrikes across multiple regions, including the capital, Tehran. The strikes are part of Operation Rising Line, a large-scale Israeli campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure.

According to Iranian state media, those martyred in the attacks include Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters and Nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.

These confirmations follow a series of overnight explosions that rocked northeastern Tehran, where residents reported powerful blasts and plumes of smoke rising from several impact zones.

Iranian state television has also reported that Israeli missiles struck residential neighborhoods in Tehran, resulting in multiple civilian deaths, including children. Emergency services remain active in affected areas as casualty counts continue to rise.
