Irfan Arshad elected president of Alpine Club

ISLAMABAD: Major General Irfan Arshad (HI) has been elected as President (unopposed) of the Alpine Club of Pakistan.

Just one panel submitted its nomination papers. Ayaz Ahmad Shigri was elected secretary of the Club, and Hayatullah Khan Durani returned as Senior Vice President unopposed. Karrar Haidri, Fiaz Ali, Saad Tariq, Ali Raza Rizvi, Mohammad Zubair, Muzaffar Faiz, and Najeebullah (vice presidents).

Sajjad Hussain was elected treasurer. Ijazur Rehman was elected unopposed President of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Association, and Kamran Khalid was elected Secretary.

Aleem Agha and Asif Aurakzai were voted as Senior Vice-Presidents. Both sports federations have yet to get the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) affiliation.
