Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will embark on a two-day official visit to Pakistan starting August 2, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.

According to diplomatic sources, President Pezeshkian’s visit will include high-level talks focused on trade, security cooperation, energy collaboration, and regional issues. The tour is expected to strengthen political, parliamentary, and economic relations at a time when both nations are seeking to deepen their engagement.

The Iranian president will begin his visit in Lahore, where he will pay tribute at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, the philosopher-poet and spiritual founder of Pakistan. Later the same day, he will travel to Islamabad, the federal capital, for a series of crucial meetings.

On August 3, President Pezeshkian will meet with top Pakistani leadership, including a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, followed by delegation-level talks. He will also meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani, and National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

Discussions are expected to cover key topics such as border management, bilateral trade, energy cooperation, Iran’s nuclear program, and the ongoing Iran-U.S. negotiations.

To honor the Iranian leader, President Zardari will host a formal state banquet, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrange a state luncheon in Islamabad.

Officials say the meetings aim to enhance political and parliamentary collaboration between the two nations, contributing to regional peace and stability.

President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to return to Tehran on the evening of August 3 after concluding his official engagements in Pakistan
