The US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was targeted with four ballistic missiles on Sunday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp said in a statement reported by state media.
The USS Lincoln is one of two aircraft carriers deployed to the region in recent weeks and the only one relatively close to Iranian shores.
The IRGC in its 4th statement regarding Operation True Promise 4, announced: Following the Iran’s Armed Forces’ actions and the attack on the targets of the US-Israeli enemies, the US military’s aircraft carrier, the Abraham Lincoln, was struck by four ballistic missiles.

The US Central Command, which is overseeing ongoing US attacks on Iran, said it sunk an Iranian Jamaran-class corvette in the Gulf of Oman at a Chah Bahar pier.
“As the President said, members of Iran’s armed forces, IRGC and police ‘must lay down your weapons.’ Abandon ship,” Central Command said in a post on X, referring to remarks on Saturday by President Donald Trump.
However, US Central Command refuted the Iran’s IRGC claims to have struck USS Abraham Lincoln with ballistic missiles, saying the Lincoln was not hit.
“The missiles launched didn’t even come close. The Lincoln continues to launch aircraft in support of CENTCOM’s relentless campaign to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,” US Central Command stated on X.

The news of Khamenei’s assassination sent shockwaves around the world, particularly in Muslim-majority countries, including Pakistan where protesters took to the streets and attempted to march toward US embassies and missions.
