iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro release date announced
Apple is getting ready to launch its new iPhone 17 series in September 2025, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro. A recent report has shared possible dates for the official announcement and release.
According to CNET, Apple usually holds its iPhone event on the first Tuesday after Labor Day. In 2025, Labor Day is on September 1, which means the event could take place on either September 3 or September 9. However, September 3 is less likely because it clashes with the IFA tech show in Berlin, one of the world’s biggest electronics events. To avoid sharing the spotlight, Apple is expected to choose September 9 for its keynote.

If the event happens on September 9, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 series would likely start on Friday, September 12. The phones would then hit stores on Friday, September 19, which fits Apple’s usual Friday release pattern.
The iPhone 17 lineup will feature completely new designs and could be released in phases. This has happened before with models like the iPhone XR in 2018 and iPhone 12 mini in 2020. The new iPhone 17 Air may see a slight delay in release, but so far, there is no confirmation. If delays do happen, pre-orders for that model may begin after September 12.
As the launch of Apple’s next-gen smartphones gets closer, all signs point to a September 9 announcement and a September 19 release, though exact dates will be confirmed by Apple soon.
