Karachi: On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, a historic and unforgettable event took place at the Governor House Karachi, where a new world record was set for the longest continuous fireworks display under the title “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle for Truth).
The highlight of the night came at 12:55 AM, when the fireworks began and continued non-stop for 1 hour and 10 minutes, dazzling the sky with vibrant colors and spectacular patterns. Representatives from the Guinness World Records were present at the venue to officially monitor and verify the attempt.
Guinness World Records officials oversaw every second of the display to ensure all criteria were met. According to their confirmation, the fireworks event is now officially recognized as the longest continuous fireworks display in the world, surpassing all previous records.
The ceremony was presided over by Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, with an enormous crowd of patriotic citizens in attendance. To accommodate the massive celebration, Asia’s largest stage was specially constructed at the venue — an engineering and logistical feat that added to the night’s grandeur.
Adding to the festivities, beloved Pakistani artists Ali Zafar and Kaifi Khalil delivered electrifying live performances, lifting the crowd’s energy and national spirit even higher.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, addressing the nation during the event, called for unity, sacrifice, and resilience — values he emphasized as the true foundation of a strong Pakistan.
