The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of monsoon rains across Pakistan starting from July 5th.
A powerful weather system is expected to bring widespread rainfall nationwide, potentially impacting multiple regions.
According to the Metrological Department, the system will primarily affect Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir between July 5th and 10th.
While significant rainfall is not anticipated in Karachi and other parts of Sindh, the northern and northwestern regions are likely to experience heavy downpours.
The Meteorological Department has warned that the effects of this weather system could lead to heavy rainfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Authorities have also expressed concern over the rising rivers and streams, which pose a risk of flooding in parts of Punjab and Balochistan.
Urban areas such as Nowshera and Peshawar are also at risk of urban flooding, particularly in low-lying zones. Additionally, the department has issued a caution for potential landslides in mountainous regions from July 6th to 8th, emphasizing the need for residents and authorities to remain alert and prepared for adverse weather conditions.
