Harrison Ford to receive major honour soon

Harrison Ford, an actor known for his long, versatile career, is set to receive the highest honour from SAG-AFTRA, an actors’ union.
It’s the Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be given to him during the 32nd Annual Actors Awards on March 1.
“I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award,” the Star Wars actor reacts to the honour.
“To be acknowledged by my fellow actors means a great deal to me. I’ve spent most of my life on film sets, working alongside incredible actors and crews, and I’ve always felt grateful to be part of this community,” he notes.
Meanwhile, SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin, in a statement, praises the actor, stating, “Harrison Ford is a singular presence in American life; an actor whose iconic characters have shaped world culture.”
“His career has been endlessly exciting, always returning to his love of acting. We are honored to celebrate a legend whose impact on our craft is indelible.”
During his career, which spanned over six decades, he has appeared in several blockbuster franchises, including Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and in critically acclaimed movies such as The Fugitive, Air Force One, and What Lies Beneath.
He also counts various awards among his accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Witness.
Before Harrison, the award’s recipients included A-lister actors such as Mary Tyler Moore, Sidney Poitier, Betty White, Jane Fonda, Robert De Niro, Elizabeth Taylor and James Earl Jones.
