Gas cylinder explosion in Chaman claims 8 lives, 25 injured

CHAMAN, BALOCHISTAN: A devastating gas cylinder explosion in the kitchen of a house in the Tor Pul area of Chaman has killed eight people, including children and women, and injured 25 others, local police confirmed.

Authorities said a 20-kilogram gas cylinder suddenly exploded with a massive blast, causing several rooms of the house to collapse. The force of the explosion also damaged nearby homes, spreading panic across the neighborhood.

Police reported that the bodies of five children were recovered from the rubble, while the other deceased include women.

The injured victims were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals, with some in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could rise.

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations, and a bomb disposal squad was deployed to rule out any potential foul play.

Initial investigations indicate that the explosion was caused by the gas cylinder, but authorities said the final cause will be confirmed after a detailed report. Rescue and relief operations remain ongoing.
