
Flood alert for Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi rivers by PDMA Punjab
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued warning of flooding in Chenab, Jhelum, Ravi rivers and adjacent drains on Monday.
PDMA has warned of extra-ordinary hike in water level of rivers from July 07 to 09.
The authority has cautioned against high flood in Chenab River at Maralla headworks.
Meanwhile, there is a risk of medium to high flooding in drains near the Ravi and Chenab rivers.

The PDMA has also warned about possible flash floods in the mountain streams of Dera Ghazi Khan. Urban flooding is also likely in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi divisions.
The disaster management authority has issued an alert to Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and WASA officials. Rescue 1122 has been told to prepare ahead of time to handle any emergency and to keep enough fuel in storage.
PDMA has directed that people should be kept informed about the situation and that food and clean water should be provided. People and their livestock living near riverbanks should be moved to safer places.
