Karak: At least five police personnel were martyred when terrorists opened fire on a police mobile van within the limits of Garagri police station in Karak.
According to police officials, the attack occurred within the jurisdiction of Garagri Police Station. Initial reports stated that four officers were martyred on the spot due to the firing.
Later, District Police Officer (DPO) Karak Saud Khan confirmed that all five police officers traveling in the police mobile had embraced martyrdom in the incident.
Following the attack, a heavy police contingent was dispatched to the area. Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the scene, launched a search operation, and started collecting evidence.
Police officials said efforts are underway to trace and arrest those responsible for the attack. Further investigations are ongoing.
