
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from khwarij, military’s media wing
Rawalpindi: Security forces killed five militants during an intelligence-based operation in District Pishin, Balochistan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to ISPR, the operation was launched after security forces received credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the suspects, who were reportedly armed with various weapons.
An intense exchange of fire took place between the two sides. ISPR stated that four militants were killed by security forces, while another detonated an explosive device during the operation. Weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from the site.
The military said the individuals killed were involved in terrorist activities. A sanitization operation is ongoing to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The operation is part of continued counterterrorism efforts being carried out under the framework of the National Action Plan. Security forces reiterated their commitment to eliminating militancy and ensuring peace and stability in the region.

President Asif Ali Zardari said the intelligence-based operation reflects the national resolve against terrorism. He reiterated that the war against the menace of terrorism will continue until its complete eradication from the country.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces for the successful operation in District Pishin. He said that under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” security forces are achieving significant successes against terrorism.
The Prime Minister stated that the entire nation stands with Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed the government’s determination to eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
