Field Marshal-Trump meeting to boost US-Pakistan ties, Bilawal
Islamabad: Meeting between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump will further strengthen the relations between Pakistan and United States, Bilawal Bhutto
In a statement issued on social media, Bilawal described the meeting as a positive step towards improving bilateral ties.
He emphasized that this meeting is particularly important at a time when Trump has played a mediatory role in ceasefire efforts, and noted that Pakistan achieved a decisive victory against India in the recent five-day conflict.
He further said that unfortunately, India has rejected peace efforts and American diplomacy, while Pakistan is neither seeking conflict nor demanding negotiations. He highlighted that peace is in the interest of both countries.
Bilawal Bhutto also clarified that there is no military solution to Pakistan’s disputes, and criticized India’s weaponization of water resources and oppression in Kashmir as unacceptable.
He condemned India’s politicization of terrorism as well. He stressed that the only way forward is through honest diplomacy, not denial or delays.
This statement comes at a time when expectations for improved relations between Pakistan and the US are rising, and the leaders of both countries seem to be moving towards mutual understanding.
