Fakhar Zaman has rejected rumors about retiring from T20 Internationals, saying he no longer plans to leave the format and wants to end his career on a positive note.
He shared that he had earlier decided to retire from T20 cricket after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, but has now changed his decision. He said he is fully committed to continuing in the format and hopes to finish his career strongly.
The left-handed batter has been an important part of Pakistan’s T20 team. At the age of 35, he has played 120 matches and scored 2,494 runs with a strike rate of 132.51, including 14 half-centuries.
He has also been a key player for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League, representing the team for the 11th consecutive season. In the league, he has played 99 matches and scored 3,018 runs with a strike rate of 141.82, including 24 fifties and two centuries.
His statement comes at a time when he is also dealing with disciplinary action in PSL 11. Fakhar was charged with a Level 3 offence for allegedly violating playing conditions during a match against Karachi Kings on March 29, related to actions that may have changed the condition of the ball.
After a hearing led by match referee Roshan Mahanama, he was given a two-match ban based on the available evidence. Fakhar denied the charges and asked for a full disciplinary hearing, but the PSL Technical Committee rejected his appeal and upheld the suspension after reviewing the case.
