“Eyes of Wakanda” premieres on 1st August

The highly anticipated animated series “Eyes of Wakanda” is set to premiere August 1st on Disney+, a surprise early release from its originally expected August 6 or August 27 dates.

Announced at the prestigious Annecy Animation Festival, the series is part of Marvel’s expanding Phase 5 and adds a thrilling new layer to the Black Panther legacy. Unlike previous Marvel animated offerings, Eyes of Wakanda steps away from multiverse storylines and dives into rich Wakandan history, weaving globe-trotting missions with high-stakes action.

Created under the guidance of Ryan Coogler, the four-episode series follows Wakandan warriors throughout history as they embark on covert missions to retrieve stolen Vibranium artifacts from around the world. Each episode explores a different era and warrior, blending cultural depth with fast-paced adventure.

Model and actress Winnie Harlow joins the cast, lending her voice to one of the lead characters in what early insiders say is a standout performance.

In an interview with Men’s Health, Marvel Studios’ Head of Animation Brad Winderbaum confirmed that Eyes of Wakanda is officially MCU canon, tying directly into the lore and events of the Black Panther films.

With just four episodes, Eyes of Wakanda promises a condensed but powerful story arc that blends history, espionage, and heroism—perfect for fans of Black Panther and newcomers alike.
