‘Excited’ Liam Hemsworth breaks silence on engagement to Gabriella Brooks
Liam Hemsworth has fallen in love with the engaged life all over again.
During an appearance on the Today show on Monday, October 27, the Hunger Games alum — who was previously married to Miley Cyrus — opened up about his engagement to longtime girlfriend Gabriella Brooks.
“I’m incredibly excited,” Hemsworth told host Savannah Guthrie when asked about the big news.
Brooks first confirmed their engagement in September with a simple black-and-white photo on her social media, showing the 29-year-old model flashing her square-cut diamond ring.
The Witcher star revealed he popped the question “a few months ago,” clearing up rumours that it happened during their recent Maldives trip.
“We went there recently,” he said. “I finished shooting about three weeks ago and went straight to a tropical island and let my hair down… or took my hair off,” he joked, referencing his long white wig from The Witcher.
“But no, we’re super excited,” he added. “It’s a happy time in life.”
According to People magazine, Hemsworth reportedly began dating Brooks shortly after divorcing Miley Cyrus in 2018 following a years-long tumultuous relationship and a short-lived marriage.
Apart from their Maldives trip, the happy couple recently stepped out together for the season 4 premiere of The Witcher on October 23, with Brooks sharing pictures from the evening to her social media days later.
Hemsworth replaced Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia after the Superman star stepped down from the role halfway through season 3.
