
Earthquake termors jolt Punjab
Lahore: Lahore and several regions across Punjab experienced a mild earthquake early Tuesday morning.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), in Islamabad, the quake had a magnitude of 4.4 and was centered approximately 25 kilometers south-southwest of Lahore, at coordinates 31.33°N, 74.23°E, with a depth of 14 kilometers.
Residents in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, and neighboring cities reported feeling tremors, prompting many to evacuate their homes and workplaces out of fear of potential aftershocks.
The tremors lasted only a few seconds but caused noticeable concern among the public.
Pakistan Meteorological Department officials confirmed the seismic activity, and emergency services across the affected areas remain on alert as a precaution.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and advise residents to stay cautious in the wake of the recent tremor. No significant damage or injuries have been reported so far.
It should be noted that, on Sunday 5.5 magnitude earthquake shooked Musa Khel (Balochistan), where no damage and injury were also not reported.
