Web Desk: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh and actress Haniya Amir’s much-anticipated film ‘Sardar Ji 3’ is navigating a turbulent path as it encounters various challenges and restrictions ahead of its release.
In a significant blow to cross-border collaboration, the much-anticipated Punjabi film Sardar Ji 3, starring Indian singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani superstar Haniya Amir, faces mounting hurdles amid rising India-Pakistan tensions.
The film’s release in India is currently under threat due to governmental bans on Pakistani artists and fierce criticism from Hindu extremist groups targeting Dosanjh.
Hania was missing from the film’s teaser, which focused only on Diljit and Neeru, sparking speculation about the extent of her role. But the full trailer confirms her central presence.
Despite these obstacles, the filmmakers have proactively released the teaser and the first song, titled “Soni Lag Di,” which Haniya Amir shared on her Instagram account—an act of defiance reflecting their unwavering commitment to promoting messages of love and peace through cinema.
Notably, Haniya Amir’s Instagram account has reportedly been blocked in India following India’s recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, conducted on May 7 in Pakistan and PoK, targeting terror launchpads. This move underscores the growing restrictions faced by Pakistani artists amid deteriorating diplomatic relations.
Back Stem Of The Conflict:
The backdrop of these developments includes the April terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in 26 Indian casualties, prompting India to launch Operation Sindoor—a military retaliation that led to the downing of six Indian fighter jets by Pakistani forces and subsequent military exchanges.
Pakistani forces responded to Operation Sindoor by launching Operation Bunyan um Marsoos, shooting down six Indian fighter jets and attacking major military bases and stockpiles. The clash ended after both parties agreed on a ceasefire.
The film’s teaser initially focused solely on Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, sparking speculation about Haniya Amir’s role, but the full trailer confirms her central presence in the project.
