Sean Diddy Combs is currently waiting for his sentencing, at the Metropolitan Detention Centre, after the trial came to its conclusion.

The 55-year-old disgraced rapper, who was convicted on two charges out of the five he was arrested for, could face up to 20 years in prison but his attorney, Marc Agnifio, revealed that the legal team has already decided on a different plan.

The lead attorney shared that the music mogul’s team is seeking home confinement instead of prison when he is sentenced, in a new interview with TMZ on Friday, August 8.

Agnifilo claimed that his client would have better access to therapists and support groups for his issues than in prison, as he said, “He has therapists that we have basically lined up for him from the outside. The MDC is very strong in certain areas … one of the areas it’s not so strong in, it does not have meaningful programming, so that is not really available to him on the inside.”

The lawyer added, “If you were at a traditional post-conviction facility, there’d be more programming for him. So we have put things together. He’s working very hard in therapy. I know he’s working hard on all these issues.”

When asked if they would favour a home confinement sentence, Agnifilo confirmed, “That is certainly an argument that I may make.”

The attorny went on to say, “I’m certainly going to be asking the judge, as a condition of his supervised release, that he have the appropriate counseling and therapy. I think he needs it. I think he thinks he needs it, and that’s the important part.”
