Death penalty on table for Rob Reiner’s son Nick Reiner?

Rob Reiner’s son Nick Reiner may receive the death penalty if found guilty in his parents’ murders.
During a recent press conference Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that Nick is expected to face two counts of first-degree murder, citing special circumstances, along with an allegation that a knife was used in the killings of Rob and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.
It is pertinent to mention that Rob and Micehele were discovered dead at their Los Angeles family home on Sunday, December 14.
According to the prosecutor, the maximum punishment includes the potential for life imprisonment without parole or even the death penalty.
However, “No decision at this point has been made with respect to the death penalty,” said Hochman, while his family’s will will also be taken under consideration by the office.
As Nick has not appeared in court yet, the attorney noted that court proceedings will begin when doctors determine he is medically stable.
Rob and Michele’s daugter Romy first found her parents dead, and the Los Angeles Fire Department said it responded to the call for aid at about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Later that day, Nick was arrested around 9 p.m. and is staying behind bars without bail at Los Angeles’ Men’s Central Jail.
A source revealed to People that Rob and Nick had a heated argument the night before their death at a party hosted by Conan O’Brien.
“Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” the insider told the outlet.
