PESHAWAR:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CTD has carried out two successful, intelligence-based operations in Peshawar and Khyber, killing six “highly wanted” terrorists linked to Fitna al-Khawarij, while several of their accomplices managed to escape.
According to police, the first targeted operation was conducted on the outskirts of Peshawar in the Tipu Sano Bacha graveyard area near Zahir Ghari after confirmed intelligence reports.
A CTD ambush team engaged the terrorists, killing three of them on the spot. However, a number of their associates fled by taking advantage of nearby residential areas.
The second operation was carried out in Jamrud, in the Naqa Kalle area adjacent to the Shah Kas Bypass Road, where terrorists were reportedly preparing a coordinated attack on police.
CTD personnel thwarted the plan, killing three more terrorists.
