Conner Floyd marked the end of his era in The Young and the Relentless with an emotional tribute after the shocking ending of his fan-favourite character, Chance Chancellor.
On Tuesday, July 29, the actor took to his Instagram to bid farewell to the CBS drama. Alongside a video, featuring the behind the scenes fun on the set, he penned a caption, honouring his legacy at the drama series.
“It’s been real GC,” after Floyd’s character was shot and killed on the July 28 episode of the soap opera, he expressed gratitude for being part of the series for the last four years. “What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City.”
“This is without a doubt a special place. I’m grateful to have been a part of such an iconic piece of art that has lasted through the decades and that has such a stellar, die hard fan base,” 32-year-old actor continued. “Thank you for accepting me.”
“Chance will always have a close place in my heart. He’s taught me a lot and I’ll miss him dearly. It’s been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy,” he added before signing off, “Detective Chancellor, over and out.”
The post was set to B-Boys Makin’ With The Freak Freak by Beastie Boys. Floyd’s touching note came weeks after it was announced that he is set to join Days of Our Lives.
The Texas-born actor will play Chad DiMera in Days of Our Lives following Flynn’s departure from the role after more than a decade.
