
Commissioner Karachi imposes two-month ban on rickshaws
KARACHI: The Commissioner of Karachi has imposed a two-month ban on the entry of rickshaws on 20 major roads across the city.
According to an official notification, the restriction applies to both 3-seater and 5-seater rickshaws.
The move is aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion in high-traffic areas. Traffic police have been authorized to enforce the ban and ensure full compliance across the designated routes.
The roads where rickshaws are now banned include: Shahrah-e-Faisal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Sher Shah Suri Road, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Abdullah Haroon Road, Do Talwar to Shahrah-e-Firdous, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Mauripur Road, Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Hub River Road, Quaidabad to Landhi 89, University Road, Korangi Road, Orangi Road, Super Highway to Malir Halt and Surjani to Abdullah Chowk.
The traffic police have been authorized to ensure strict enforcement of this ban across all listed roads.
Notably, a similar ban had been imposed last month on 11 roads across the city.
