
Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Libya, based on shared interests.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on an official visit to Libya, met with Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief.
On arrival, Field Marshal Munir was received with a Guard of Honour by a well-drilled contingent of the Libyan Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and avenues to enhance bilateral defence and military-to-military cooperation. Emphasis was placed on collaboration in training, capacity building, and counter-terrorism efforts.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Libya, while Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and expressed interest in further expanding defence cooperation between the two nations.
