Cloudburst triggers deadly floods in Uttarakhand, Several Indian soldiers missing
Uttarakhand, India: A powerful cloudburst in the Uttarkashi district of India’s Uttarakhand state has unleashed deadly flash floods, leaving a trail of destruction in nearby areas and several Indian army soldiers feared missing.
The sudden downpour caused a massive rush of mud, rocks, and floodwaters flowing down from the Himalayan Mountains, sweeping away homes, shops, hotels, and infrastructure in its path.
Videos circulating on social media show terrifying scenes of people running for their lives as fast-moving floodwaters engulf buildings and streets.

According to Indian media reports, at least four people have died so far, while more than 50 remain missing. Rescue teams are actively working in the affected areas to search for survivors and provide emergency aid.
Tragically, an Indian Army camp near Dharali village was also caught in the flood. A helipad by the riverside was washed away, and several army personnel are currently unaccounted for.
The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of more heavy rainfall in the region until August 10, prompting local authorities and emergency teams to stay on high alert.
