Christine Lampard rescues Lorraine show amid difficult transition

Christine Lampard breathes life into Lorraine show amid difficult transition.

As ITV prepares to implement sweeping changes to its daytime lineup, Lorraine Kelly’s popular morning show has been a surprising surge in viewership.

The show is currently drives by Christine Lampard, 46, while Lorraine enjoys her holiday break, the show has outpoured This Morning in the ratings-despite being on the chopping block for significant airtime reducations.

On a recent broadcast, Lorraine peaked at 700,000 viewers, surpassing This Morning, which pulled in 675,000 viewers with hosts Rochelle Humes and Dermot O’Leary.

A TV insider commented: ‘You can only imagine what Lorraine will think. Whilst she’s on holiday Christine steps into her shoes and suddenly her show takes over This Morning.’

The ratings win comes just as ITV announced a major reshuffle across its morning shows.

From January 2026, Good Morning Britain (GMB), Lorraine, and This Morning will all be moved from their current studios as part of a network overhaul.

Both Lorraine and Loose Women will face the most significant cuts. GMB will be merged with ITN, the producers of ITV News, and extended by 30 minutes-airing from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM daily.

Lorraine, which currently broadcasts nearly year-round, will be reduced to just 30 weeks out of 52. Loose Women will keep it a 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM slot but will also be limited to 30 weeks annually.

Meanwhile, This Morning, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, will retains its 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM weekday slot and continue airing through the year.
