
Officials from PMD, SUPARCO, and Religious Affairs to confirm Eid-ul-Fitr date.
ISLAMABAD: In a key religious observance, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 19 March 2026, in Islamabad under the leadership of Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad.
The high-profile session, held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, will determine and officially announce the sighting of the Shawwal moon, marking the conclusion of Ramadan and the arrival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad has urged all citizens across Pakistan to actively participate in observing the moon.
The meeting will be attended by members of the Central and Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, the Meteorological Department, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Simultaneously zonal committee meetings will be conducted at their respective headquarters in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar to coordinate and confirm observations. The committees will collectively finalize the official decision regarding the Shawwal moon sighting.
