Britney Spears is throwing some back shade as her ex-husband Kevin Federline announced his upcoming memoir You Thought You Knew, set to hit shelves October 21.

In the August 6 press release, the 47-year-old former dancer and father of Spears’ two children hinted that he would tell all about their turbulent relationship and the “crushing heartbreak” he endured at the pop icon’s hands.

But just hours before the announcement, Spears, 43, took to Instagram with a cryptic caption seemingly aimed at those who’ve wronged her.

She wrote in the caption, “But let me tell you guys a secret… to those who are listening, because believe it or not, those closest to you sometimes will be the main ones to do whatever they can to stop you from having the life you deserve, even lie to you,”

The Toxic hitmaker added, “If I told you guys you wouldn’t believe me and it’s not something I ever want to share… But until then, it sounds cheesy, but keep your head held high!!!”

Meanwhile, Federline claims, “I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence.”

The book will explore Federline’s early career dancing for stars like Pink and Michael Jackson, his whirlwind marriage to Spears in 2004, and their 2007 divorce.

The pair share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, and have remained in the public eye due to long-standing custody disputes.

“If you’ve ever had questions, you’ll find answers here,” Federline teased.
