Big Blow for 5G Users in Pakistan — Broadband Packages Increased by Up to 20%

Internet users in Pakistan have been hit with another shock as leading telecom operators have increased their 5G and fiber broadband package rates by 10% to 20%, effective July 2025. Millions of subscribers are now facing higher monthly bills.

Which companies have raised prices?

Major internet providers like Zong Fiber, Jazz Home Wi-Fi, PTCL CharJi, and Telenor 4G have officially revised their broadband pricing.

Zong Fiber 50 Mbps: Old — Rs 4,499 → New — Rs 5,299
Jazz Home Wi-Fi 100GB: Old — Rs 2,000 → New — Rs 2,350

PTCL CharJi Unlimited: Now costs Rs 3,450/month
Telenor 4G Ultra: From Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,200

Why have prices increased?

Telecom sources cite the rising USD rate, higher equipment import duties, and maintenance costs as key reasons for the surge.

Companies claim the hike is necessary to sustain service quality amid growing operational challenges.

How are consumers reacting?

Heavy users—especially those working from home, streaming, or gaming—are most affected. Many customers have taken to social media to express frustration and are exploring alternative ISPs.
