Benedict Cumberbatch has made an uncanny confession about his children’s future education.

In a new chat with the Daily Mail, the Doctor Strange star explained why he does not want his three sons to attend boarding school, despite having gone to one of the most elite institutions in the U.K. himself.

As fans will know, Cumberbatch, 49, who shares sons Christopher, Hal and Finn with his wife, theatre director Sophie Hunter, is a former student of Harrow School in Greater London, where annual fees run into the thousands.

However, according to the actor, boarding school is not part of the plan for his boys.

“Not unless they really want to, but no way,” he said.

“And Sophie [feels] the same. Selfishly, I want them around – I still want to be there, in case the call comes, [when] the fall happens, I wanna be there.”

Still, Cumberbatch did not dismiss the value of his own schooling.

He went on to praise Harrow, whose notable alumni include Winston Churchill, James Blunt and Lord Byron, saying the historic school offered “amazing facilities and a very structured timetable.”
