Bad Bunny and TPUSA halftime shows draw contrasting audiences as early view figures emerge

While Bad Bunny’s official numbers are awaited, TPUSA surpassed millions of total views across platforms

Early audience figures have begun to emerge following the Super Bowl LX, where two rival halftime shows aired simultaneously on Sunday, highlighting a sharp cultural and political divide.

While Bad Bunny headlined the official halftime show at Levi’s Stadium on NBC, Turning Point USA staged its All-American Halftime Show online in protest, featuring Kid Rock and other country artists.

TPUSA’s broadcast, streamed primarily via YouTube and Rumble, surpassed six million total views across platforms, according to livestream data. More than five million viewers tuned in concurrently on TPUSA’s main YouTube channel, with close to one million additional views recorded on Charlie Kirk’s YouTube stream.

Smaller audiences were logged across other channels, including approximately 200,000 views on Magno News, 220,000 on TPUSA’s Rumble channel and around 15,000 on Kirk’s Rumble stream.

The alternative show featured performances from Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, and was promoted to viewers who had pledged to boycott Bad Bunny’s official halftime appearance. TPUSA had initially planned to stream the event on X, but announced shortly before kickoff that licensing issues had forced a last-minute move to YouTube.

Bad Bunny’s halftime performance aired during the Super Bowl broadcast itself, which traditionally draws one of the largest television audiences of the year. Official viewership figures for the 2026 halftime show have not yet been released, though comparisons are already being made with recent performances. In 2024, Usher’s halftime show attracted 123.4 million viewers, while Kendrick Lamar drew 133.5 million viewers the following year, the highest figure to date.

Bad Bunny, currently the most-streamed artist globally, was selected by the NFL to headline the show in an effort to appeal to international audiences. His 13-minute performance featured extensive references to Puerto Rican culture, Latin American flags and appearances by well-known Latin celebrities.
