Babar Azam becomes first batter to score 4,000 PSL runs

Babar finished his innings with 43 runs off 40 balls.

Babar Azam, captain of Peshawar Zalmi, made history on Saturday by becoming the first player to score 4000 runs in the Pakistan Super League.

He achieved this milestone during a PSL 11 match against defending champions Lahore Qalandars at the National Bank Stadium. Babar needed 39 runs before the match to reach the record and completed it with a single off Usama Mir in the 14th over.

However, Usama Mir dismissed him shortly after in the next over. Babar finished his innings with 43 runs off 40 balls.

Since the start of the PSL in 2016, Babar Azam has been the most consistent batsman in the league and now holds the top position in the all-time run scorers list. He is followed by Fakhar Zaman with 3018 runs and Mohammad Rizwan with 2853 runs.

Most runs in PSL

Babar Azam (IU, KK, PZ) – 4004 runs
Fakhar Zaman (LQ) – 3018 runs
Mohammad Rizwan (KK, LQ, MS, RWP) – 2853 runs
Rilee Rossouw (MS, QG) – 2366 runs
Shoaib Malik (KK, MS, PZ, QG) – 2350 runs

Beyond the milestone, Babar has also been in fine touch in the ongoing PSL 11 season.
