Azam Swati summoned by NAB over Illegal use of government funds
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned PTI leader Azam Swati for allegedly authorizing the illegal release and non-transparent use of public funds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to reports, NAB has issued a notice to Azam Swati over irregularities related to the release of government funds in the Kohistan district and surrounding areas. The notice directs him to appear before NAB’s joint investigation team on June 23.
NAB has also asked Swati to bring along the bank account details and related records of Kohistan Association & Builders Firm.
The notice clearly states that failure to respond or appear before the team may lead to disciplinary action.
This call-up notice has been issued by Deputy Director Coordination KP, Muhammad Kamran. Investigations are already underway into the illegal and non-transparent disbursement of funds by the District Accounts Office in Kohistan and other regions.
As part of this probe, NAB has now officially summoned Azam Khan Swati for questioning.
