Lahore: Prominent television actress Ayesha Sana is reportedly in hiding after a cheque bounce case was registered against her at a Lahore police station. The actress stands accused of defrauding the public of millions of rupees.
Complainant Mian Ali Moeen lodged a formal complaint at the Defence-B police station, alleging that Ayesha Sana borrowed PKR 20 million from him and subsequently refused to return the amount. According to Moeen, after persistent demands, Sana issued a cheque for the said amount, which unfortunately bounced due to insufficient funds in her account.
Sources indicate that Ayesha Sana has been unreachable for the past three days, with affected parties reporting that she is not responding to their repeated calls. An investigation officer at Defence-B police station, who is leading the probe, confirmed that the actress has gone into hiding since the case was filed. However, authorities are confident of making an arrest soon.
Mian Ali Moeen claims he is not the sole victim, asserting that Ayesha Sana has allegedly issued bogus cheques to several other individuals. She is accused of accumulating approximately PKR 60 million under the guise of personal use and through traditional “committees” a common method of informal savings. The complainant further added that other affected parties are also actively pursuing her.
This incident adds to Ayesha Sana’s history of controversies. The actress previously gained notoriety for an infamous viral video where she was seen yelling at the support staff of a television show, drawing widespread criticism. As police intensify their efforts to apprehend her, this latest development casts a significant shadow on her public image and career.
