Awam Express derails near Rahim Yar Khan, three bogies Off track

Quetta: An explosion on the railway track near Mastung caused six carriages of the Jaffer Express to derail on Sunday.

According to railway officials, the Jaffer Express had departed from Quetta for Peshawar at 9:00 AM. The blast occurred near Mastung, just as the train was passing through the area.

Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident, officials confirmed.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, another explosion occurred on the railway track in Sibi, where the Jaffer Express narrowly escaped a similar mishap.

On the other side, another derail incident occurred near Khanpur, where Awam Express train traveling from Peshawar to Karachi, met with an accident resulting in three bogies to go off from the track.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred on Saturday morning. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Immediately after the accident, the affected bogies were detached from the train, and a rescue operation was launched.

The immediate cause of the accident could not be determined; however, the railway administration has initiated an investigation. Due to the incident, train traffic on the down track was suspended, causing severe inconvenience to passengers.

After five hours the railway track was fully restored, and the Awam Express was once again on the way towards Karachi.
