Asia Cup venue decision expected today in ACC meeting

Web Desk: The Asian Cricket Council is likely to green light a proposal today to host the Asia Cricket Cup from September 5 to 21 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The proposal to host the upcoming Asia Cricket Cup in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 5 to 21 is expected to receive formal approval today during a crucial meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

According to sources, the Asia Cup, hosted by India, will be a key agenda item at today’s ACC meeting. Rajiv Shukla, representing the host board, will present their stance on the tournament’s arrangements. Consultations with other participants are also expected to finalize the schedule.

The tournament will feature top cricketing nations including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. A highly anticipated match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is tentatively scheduled for September 7.

Prior to the main event, there’s also a possibility of a tri-nation series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and UAE, which is likely to be held in Dubai. The confirmation of dates and venues today will set the stage for one of Asia’s premier cricketing spectacles.
